Default Quick DV question

Would removing the hose from inlet manifold to DV effectively disable the DV, or, would it mean it would leak boost pressure like a sieve ?

PS: D/V vents to atmosphere, not re-circulating if it makes a difference.

Thanks in advance
Greg

It will leak if the boost pressure exceeds the spring pressure.

Note quite, MrsFrog wants hers off, but I don't have a blanking plug, and don't really want to put a piece of broom handle in there... So I thought I'd just be able to disconnect the pipe to it

I'd like to be able to turn mine on/off though, nice to have it on when you're on a leisurely (sp?) drive and can't be arsed with all the noise (std ford recirc. one), and turn it off when you want a bit of chatter to brighten up the day...

Oh well... or, is there a solution to this

yup! u can use an amal valve in the vacume pipe to control the dump valve. Gives u the ability to turn it on and off from the flick of a switch inside the car.

But as per stu, when on big boost the dump valve might leak so u'd probably need to have it switched on when u're giving it beans (but u could get round this with a pressure switch if u wanted to be really flash!)
