hello all just a quickie i've got a 95 escort (looks like a 96) that states that it is an RS Mexico on the log book im sure i've seen one before but can't remeber where. does anyone know if this is right? are there many abt if so? also do u think the car would be worth more if i sold it because of the RS name? cheers lads rich

Mate I remember them bringing that out but bears nothing in heritage or anything else that you associate with MK1/2 Mexicos

Just some marketing stunt ford tried which failed miserably

yeah i knew it wasn't anything special i rember the bloke i brought it off saying its got white dials! and rs badges on the side!

Are you sure it has "RS"? I remeber it as just Mexico. It had some decals and maybe some different alloys. Nothing to get excited about I am afraid.

is nuthin to do with RS tho, just as deano said marketing ploy using the mexico heritage.
some nutter may pay a bit more but i doubt it......only on ebay

it definelty has rs mexico on the log book was just asking out of intrest really i've had it 2 yrs now piston rings have gone! joy, oh and its a 1.6 not a 1.3

yeah mate, sadly someone has just nailed RS badges on it. the Escort MK5 and 6 mexicos were one of the base model 1.6s
