Default Card reader/writer probs bugger, poo and arse

I bought an internal 3.5" media card reader off of ebay from some 'company' in hong kong last month. Everything was fina and have had no problems unitl this week !

I put a 128mb xd card into it and a message on the screen came up card needs formatting ? I didnt as it had a load of pics on it, put it back in my camera to be shown a card I/O error ! all me pics were lost !!!! Thinking it was the card i used a 256mb xd card and its just done the same sodding thing !!

as i had nothing to lose i formatted (as requested) an xd card and i can now add stuff to the card BUT, I cant use it in my camera as it comes up with the card I/O error again !

Any ideas guys n girls ?I have emailed mr Hong Kong to see if he's gonna replace the reader, and the company (another ebay company) to se if they will replace the 256mb card. Any ideas of my chances ?

Thanks

I had this recently on a 128mb XD card. All I done to get mine working again was to format it in the camera.

I then picked my card reader up, put it on the floor and smashed the fucker up

No worries Andy. Glad I can be of assistance...

Maybe take the card reader out and get the brigade to drive over it?

The file system the camera uses and teh file system the card reader can read are different. Mobile phone that use mmc cards have the same problem.

Cant you just connect the camera directly to teh pc?
