Ive done 280 miles on uk roads in 2hr40 before, and that included a petrol stop.
140 odd on a moderately busy motorway swerving in and out of all 3 lanes (+ occasionally the shoulder) is pretty exciting to begin with but after half an hour it just feels normal and you start pratting about the stereo at the same time
That was ages ago and i wouldnt risk my license like that any more unless i had an extremely good reason.

Ive done Norwich County Hall to the edge of Oulton Broad in 12 mins before. Which is....lol this sounds crap 23.3miles. But none of it is Dual Carriageway
And then the other day me and a mate did Felixstowe beach to Lowestoft in 24mins, thats 48miles
How do you work out the avg speed of each of these?

Worst I ever done was Norwich to Oxford in a little over 2 hours, and Norwich to Kingston (Surrey) in a little over 2 and a half. These were very early in the morning though.

Average Speed = Total Distance Traveled/Total time taken
Therefore, 39.2 X (58/60) = 37.89MPH.

Hmm.. interesting topic:
Maidenhead to Dunblane in Scotland 4 hours on the dot. ( when i was 18 )
Leigh near manchester to home in Stirling, 2 hours. ( 3 weekends ago )
Stirling to Adlington in 2 hours n 5 mins. Then turned around and did very very close to the same time home. PS included a petrol stop both directions. ( 2 months ago ) I had an average speed of 115 on the trip computer for the entire journey, regularily sitting at above 130 and very very rarely below.
Aberdeen to Dunblane 1 hr 6 mins. ( 4 years back odd )
nurburgring 8 mins 16 ( about 1.5 years ago )
Birmingham to Dunblane 3 hours exactly ( 300 miles so not a special time but i was 18 at the time with my dad in the car so had to keep a semi sensible time ) 10 years ago ( shock!)
Edinburgh newbridge roundabout to dunblane keir roundabout ( both roundabouts at the end of the motorway ie ones you have to take ) in 15 mins 30 seconds average speed around 125mph.
I tend to cruise at 120 and run at 130 if I feel i need to make a better time. Once you get to higher speeds for hundreds of miles, the cars I tend to use ( ie not a big merc or anything else designed for 150 constant ) you tend to feel that you are being a little hard on them. SO 120-130 constant is the norm and higher speeds saved for key requirements.
I like fast driving and dont regularily get passed. Would love to meet some of you guys on the road would make for some entertaining high speed runs

It makes me happy to read this post. Something to do with the fact there are other people out there tearing the tarmac to pieces regularily . It means I am not the ONLY one the cops are looking for
Keep it NAILED!!!
