I have around 60-70units aweek for about 5 years...less before but still too much ..am i about to die?

I go through stages, i may have 4 cans of lager a night for a week or two and then get bored of the same taste so i go off it, i dont drink spirits and bitter is awful.

i do the same, some weeks i might have a few in the boozer most nights or a few with my dinner at home. then not have any for a week or so (i work everyother wknd so that kind of kills big nights out)

i think the less you have to do the more you get bored and want to drink. i find that anyway...

Normally go out 1 day a week, either monday or tuesday and have 7 or 8 pints in that time.
Went out testerday on a dayer and definatly had too much

Most nights i have a couple of stella then usualy get melted at the weekend pretty bad now that i think of it

I used to drink 4-8 cans of stella 6 or 7 nights a week

Been doing Atkins for 3 months, given up lager and only let myself drink alcohol once a week now

Down from over22st to 17st 10lbs tho Halfway there

Hmmmmmmm i do like the alcohol but only have it when i gotta stay in or out on the piss deffo havent got a problem as im to tight and will stop buying it at a point

...i will admit its really hard...i only drink at night but got into a habit....i just feel i cant give up..i need it ...but then maybe i am best with it than without it...atleast i aint stressed..i like to wind down...and alcohol does this....

Yeah its weird as in the country if u drink loads your a hero but in 90% of other countries they class u as a bum if u drink loads

some weeks, if im feeling a bit flush, ill go out drinking thursday, saturday and sunday nights, if im a bit skint, its usually just a saturday.

I.e. this weekend, i drank from 12pm until about 3am on saturday, was pretty mogared after that

Dont drink much in the house really, unless iuve got the boys round before we go out, occasionally have a few cans with my old man if we're watchin the footie or summit, but not that often really.

Started a 4pm on sat an stopped drinkin about midnight on sunday an im payin for it now havent been able to eat or keep anything down all day,

But when im out now i stick to bottled lager instead of shots an random funny coloured shit, dont get as bad hangovers an dont get in such a state,Have also cut down on the ammount i spend aswell, used to be 80pounds upwards but have cut down by not buyin everyone a drink lol,

Heavy drinking leads to the road of darkness and you will become a loser that spends all his/her life in a pub, thinks they are better than everyone else and lives a life outside of reality - I know because I was one of these people and had a bit of a problem

I still drink but not as much or as frequent as before. More importantly, my life is better now and I feel much better

I was quite bad with drinks 2 years back.
Doctor said I wouldn't get to 40 if I kept drinking like that
(was only 24 at the time )

Usually 2-3 nights in a week going out and getting totally wasted.
Then sunday afternoon, ....

Did the cold turkey for about 6 months, first month was fine, then one weekend, suffered badly. Then it got easy.
Now I drink again, but only 1 heavy session a month and sometimes a few pints in front of telly, but not daily or even weekly.

And its true what dragon said, you start living outside reality, don't give a shit about things etc...

Spoken like a true alcoholic! You 'CAN' give up and you 'CAN' live without it. It is hard, but you can do it. Trust me, I've been there!

If you find you have a lot of time to yourself and are using that time to drink, then find something to occupy your free time. Take up martial arts, go swimming, training, anything that will keep you busy. Believe me, a couple of hours training makes you feel great. Drinking is too easy, lazy and will f*** you in the end

Like I said, I had a big problem with drink, but determination will get you through it. However, if you don't really want to, then it's a complete waste of time

i used to drink alot from 17 to 19, was in the pub everynight and that was my hobbie, was a right laugh and do not regret it one bit

when i stoped as i had a car i couldnt use and got the orion i couldnt drink as much but being home was soooo boring, ended up getting another job to keep my busy during the week evenings

then after that i calmed down alot , i was a fookign state at times though, all the good time i had was great but then al the bad times were bad too, i passed out while chucking up in a pub toilets after starting drinking at 5pm sat and it was 8pm sunday, i never stoppeed drinking either spent that time with 4 sets of people too,

also the rows and fights i had , all not worth it

i dont drink as much anymore and go out every few months, but i now drink indoors , we bought 2 crates of stella ( 48 cans) and there all gone and that was on the 6th of may

they was incase any friends come up and have em in doors but me and nikki drank em all, done the first case in 4 days

I like the drink relaxes me..dont wanna give up...just cut down..LOL...i dont see how i can be classed alcoholic My idea of one of them is thus:-

Drinks anytime of the day,doesnt eat properly,depressed..i am none of those!

Alcoloholism might make a few people reconsider their definition of an alcoholic/alcoholism.......
