Window licker in a concours sense means those people so obsessed with keeping their car clean that they would lick the windows to make sure they arent dirty.

Another, not uncommon but very un-pc comment regarding these lot are 'headbangers' for obvious reasons, thats why some of them have to wear riding hats/helmets whilst 'riding the sunshine bus' as Tiff put it!

Gareth, I heard that stat too....hence trying to find out more (just curious).....Porche prob wont admit to the fatalitys (very BAD for PR)....so the number of GT2's still registered versus how many were built will give us an idea

Okay, so why does that make it anyone's favourite Porsche?

Surely that many accidents can't be down to just driver error, and even if that's not the case, the car is obviously very difficult to drive quickly............

Maybe that's it then - you like the idea (in a Tom Cruise, Days of Thunder style) of "trying to control something that's out of control" - god you really are children of the 80s

Oh yes Bill

Thats pure irony in the thread title (not deliberate).........

More info: Just got this e-mail from my customer that owns a 911 and lives in Holland but works in the UK:

Doug,
The GT2 referred to is the initial 993 based GT2 turbo - not the current GT2.

The original GT2 was an evo special made by Porsche to go racing. It has a massive rear wing and big wide bolted on wheelarch extensions. Turbo power was a bit brutal.

There have been some articles in 911 and Porsche World.
I'm currently in the UK - when I get back home I'll scan the articles and e-mail them to you.
Dave.

I personally concur with Steve's theory, as the suspension is all fully adjustable (including geometry).

My dream car in my dream colour:

And the current GT2 isn't even in the same postcode (IMO) . It weighs a god 400kg more than the old GT2s, and the Evo versions of the early ones can get down to 1100kg (from 1250kg).
