A bit more info:

BAR and Button get two-race ban

The BAR team has been banned for two races for running an underweight car at the San Marino Grand Prix.

An appeal court of motorsport's ruling body the FIA also stripped BAR of the 10 points won by Jenson Button and team-mate Takuma Sato at Imola.

But it stopped short of meeting the FIA's request that BAR be thrown out of the Formula One championship.

Button's car was found to be 5.4kg underweight when it was weighed at the end of the race at Imola last month.

The FIA found two additional fuel tanks within the main tank and argued that BAR had broken rules by using fuel as ballast to allow the car to run light during a race - giving it a speed advantage.

I doubt that they can keep it (I know you were joking Ginge)....

I think they got away very lightly with the two race ban, considering the device was designed/used for deliberate cheating..........No other reason for the extra (internal) chamber and valve

the question should be are the other cars less weight than that car when the race was on at any time and why !!!!!! ( if there was another car , i can dream cant i )

Personally, i doubt he knew, why would the team tell him that when he would probably mention it at a later date if he falls out with the team?

The reason they ban the driver too is that if he got a ride in another car for a couple of races and got points then won at the end of the season or finished highly, he would have "BAR" on his overalls and they would get the credit for his win i guess, either that or its just a case of "everyone ascociated is banned and if he doesnt want to get banned again then he should join a team that dont cheat"

Its irrelevant anyway probably as no other decent team would lend him a car for a couple of races.

Well, maybe Jenson can appeal to keep the prevoius points - If he is innocent and did'nt know he may get his points back ander appeal.......BUT then again, the other teams will object/protest to him getting those points back as he could well have had an unfair advantage from the trick collector and valve.

Luck doesn't have anything to do with it, working long hours very hard at a very stressful (albeit well paid ) job does, perhaps you should try it some day my pikey friend .

no pon i said if hes got the risk of facing a ban that affects him personally its in his interest to know everything about the car thats been done to it ( again that was said by me)

if hes just banned cause the team is banned then so what, hes not his fault and ust gotta deal with it

BUT if he faces personal penaltys then he should make himself aware as much as possable


as for driving the car when the teams banned thats a good point and i did also mention that, but that means hes not personally held accountable but the team is and hes just stuck in the middle of it, fook all ya can do and moaning and saying its unfair aint gonna do anything as hes got no car to drive

i did sugest he use his own car aslong as its not a honda but cant see that helping him out
