ok guys... here's an update.....
we thought such a valuable pencil really should have some motorsport credibility, so we took it along to RAF bentwaters this weekend to see what it could do...
We strapped it into a shelsey race car piloted by VW cup holder Rob carvell....
Rob and the pencil went on to acheive fastest 0-60 time of the day
2.82 second
After the run Rob was heard to say"the car and pencil performed impecably- theres so much more to come... we haven't even sharpened it yet!
Here's the certification of today's pencil times..
This will obviously be supplied to the lucky winner...
rob carvel pictured above with the pencil firmly strapped into the co-pilots position..
obviously £100 is a lot of money for cake ...
Therefore we have decided that all monies raised from this sale will go to a local charity...

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Ye haverhill scumm, i will have 'e down

A: You sir are a damn fool and I demand to have satisfaction!
Q: This is a load of old clap trap, you are not reputable pencil sellers or suppliers. Subsequently you are threatening my livelihood as a world reknowned pencil stockist and graphite utensil engineer. My business will suffer from this sale badly, I want you to be aware of the damage this will cause myself, my family and my career, of many family generations. I will no longer be able to send my two youngest children in to private schooling, and they will have to suffer the dispicable rigours of state schooling as a result. The future of my childrens education is at risk. You shall now reap the consequences of stepping into my territory, and you will FEEL MY WRATH unleashed by the fist of fury. Don't say I didn't warn you :-/

A: Well I must say in no uncertain terms that any man who claims to be of substance who bases the future of his offspring on the sale of specialist stationary is to put it bluntly "greatly in need of council". May I say sir that until this moment I had yet to converse with such a Cad, a Bounder and a cave dwelling slime ridden Troglodyte. May you awake tomorrow to discover the very detritus of the planet lodged in your left nostril. Though in hindsight you are obviously already at a tremendous disadvantage to most men.
Q: Thankyou for your earlier correspondence, as I understand it, the weight of paper I am using is going to be 70 g/m2 with a +5 rake angle and a 50% duty cycle, I will be able to achieve a maximum of 50 lPm vs 5% durability wear, against 40% caffiene consumpsion by user....... but my question is: Does my breath stink?
08-May-05
A: Looking at your caffiene levels I`d say your plaque deposition rate will be high; Your breath will certainly suffer.
Q: Is this Pencil Capable Drawning Kittens ?
08-May-05
A: I would question your motives but in theory I cant see any major problems there.
Q: I am the treasurer for the Suffolk pens and pencils collectors guild (founded 1997) and am concerened that you have described the pencil as " of the type used to draw intercoolers and squirrels". Clearly, this pencil is more suited for drawing weasels, stoats and nematodes. The drawing of squirrels would demand a lesser carbon content. Your response please.
07-May-05
A: Good day to you sir, I must convey that while technically you are correct (see subsection 3 para 2.14 "draughting descriptions") it depends to a large extent upon the nature of the squirell and its environment. Naturally at the time of going to press the guidelines are accurate but the take no account of changing public tastes in the graphic representation of tree-bourne mammals. The current mimimalist trend leans toward a more confined and some may even speculate lighter feel to the new drawings of the squirell although I feel that the classic baroque era peices by the old masters have a timeless charm.
Q: Hi ,could you please tell me what compound the graphite innard is,as I see generally produce quick sketch's straight onto the back of a beermat and so need a fast gripping pencil, but with a wear rate good enough to withstand the coarse fibre make up of the said mat that is usually damp (but not wet) from Coors Light????
07-May-05
A: Ah at last a question worthy of a response, HARDCORE draughtsmanship dude! OK there really isnt space here to discuss this facsinating subject so I suggest you look at the follwing hardback publication available from Amazon.com ISBN 0394574222 The Pencil: a history of design and circumstance, Henry Petroski. The undisputable authoritative work on the origins and history of the pencil. Petroski traces the development of the pencil from the earliest times to the present, sparing no detail concerning every aspect of pencil design and character. This book is a 'must read' for every serious pencil collector. Buy this book from Amazon - Hardcover - Softcover
Q: Hi, I'm a constipated mathematician, do you think I could work it out with your pencil??
07-May-05
A: No don`t be ridiculous; this is a serious sale for pencil enthusiasts. Don`t waste my time with being silly.
Q: What is the maximum drawing speed of the carbon graphite innard? I need to know as we have some extremely caffeine -soaked graphite users here who have a minimum drawing speed of 200 lines per second.
07-May-05
A: What weight of paper do you use, what is your anticipated duty cycle and rake angle etc? To give you a ballpark figure if you were using 80g/m2 paper, +10 rake angle with 70% duty cylce you might be able to comfortably exceed 50mm/s in the case of non linear travel rising to say 150mm/s for pure linear work. The carbon deposition rate is too high to maintain any speed in excess of this. Of course this takes into account any peak accelleration figures during drawing velocity alterations.
Q: Hi has the pencil got uprated internals or standard as i am planning on pushing a fair bit of pressure through it thanks
07-May-05
A: Your main issue here is going to be heat soak. Mechanical failure is unlikely but excessive heat could cause substrate separation. The outer sheath is shrunk onto the central shaft, the differing coefficients of heat expansion mean that you should consider a water cooling unit. If you anticipate regular usage beyond say 120 degrees you may also need to consider the flashpoint of your drawing media.
Q: Hi Can you let me know the quality of the covering as I am concerned about dermatological problems arising especially when positioning the unit around the audio receptive region Thanx
06-May-05
A: I would have to admit this is not an area of research I have been involved in. Currently the pencil is sealed with a polyurethene acrylic laquer finish. I would need some lab tests carried out on yourself in order to acertian the appropriate finsh as differing levels of organic corrosive agents can make the choice of pencil finishing a black art to most.
Q: i like to run a large camber on my erasing devices, will this cope with said angles, and is there replacement rubbes available or can the be made to order as i usually get uneven rubber wear.
06-May-05
A: A common malaise in the drawing community. My guess is that you have lowered your wrist pin excessively during writing, thus spoiling your natural creative geometry. You should increase your wrist ride height to factory presets or we could engineer some manner of adjustable top mount with needle rollers to aide directional rotation without compromising camber angles.
Q: Is the rather natty facial hair shown in the photo included with the purchase? Also, can you tell me please what charge you would place on delivering the item wrapped in a photograph of Queen Victoria? Many thanks.
06-May-05
A: I must dissapoint you, I shaved today so said natty facial hair is presently in transit to a landfill site near wolverhapton. Wrapped in a photograph eh? I would surmise that some manner of fabric woven banner would be more suitable. Photos can crease badly.
Q: Is the end mounted integral marking erasure contraption surround chrome plated or polished light alloy? can't tell from the pic. Needs to match my Pro alloy motorsport toe-nail clippers you see
06-May-05
A: Hi, It is hard chromed steel for maximum durability. How are your nail clippers by the way?
Q: Hi can you tell me if there has been any product tests on this item if so what are the gains by having one, also I'm left handed would it be suitable for this application.
06-May-05
A: As yet the SWLHP (society for wierd left handed persons) has not approved this pencil but we can but wait. Perhaps lobby your local MP?
Q: Could the said pencil be used for anal activities ?
06-May-05
A: As the description states "limited only by your brain" However usage beyond design parameters is undertaken at your own risk.
Q: I don't think I have a sharpener worthy of such a finely engineered drawing contrivance, would you be willing to hone it to a suitable degree of sharpness before dispatch?
06-May-05
A: To what angle?
Q: Is there any sort of reccomened "running in period" and at what speed should drawing first be carried out??
06-May-05
A: Good question, I recommend not to exceed 15mm/s for the first meter to allow bedding in. Any faster can result in work hardening of the central shaft and associated horrific consequences....
Q: Hi, can you guarantee that this is a genune Pro alloy motorsport pencil-have you any documentation?
05-May-05
A: Will be supplied with signed certificate of authenticity signed by all Pro Alloy staff, a photo showing pencil in workshops and a copy of my welding codings from The Welding Institute (I am making a 1 off 6061-T6 aluminium Pro Alloy stamped pencil display cabinet) so of course you need to know your pencil cabinet is constructed as per Civil Aviaiation guideline: CAA BCAR A8-10 (all configuurations

The things you can get off Ebay
Basically one of my bosses favourite lines when someone 'THINKS' they have done something a bit special at work and then tell him what they have done, looking for a bit of a pat on their back, he willl say 'AND? what do you want? a fooking tufty badge you coont?'
Its a put down, he says it quite nastily to diss someone. So I bought that badge and the next time he used the line on me, I pulled it out and said ' no you ccont, coz I've already got one' in a kind of way
The only thing I can't explain on my ebay feedback is the drunken £300 saxophone I bought. Anyone want it?
