OK Steven...this is a Ford site...no need to keep rubbing it in!
We have the Japs on road legal FWD top speed and mark my words this will be bettered soon + there are a good few high powered road legal FWD cars with good setup's aswell as power so 1/4 drag will be interesting aswell. Anyway back on topic....stop rubbing it in!

Im not rubbing it in
I wonder if really do have 1 over the japs on FWD top speed tho I dont know anywhere where can check, but i DO remember the editor of Option Magazine was killed trying to do 200mph in the TopFuel Civic many many years ago, and that was road legal, infact i think he crashed at 300kmh, which is 187mph...
And non-roadlegal FWD top speeds belong to the Yanks, the GM Racing Chevy Cobalt has hit 197.5mph within the 1/4mile

That makes FAR more sense now!
I couldnt work out how it was such an enormous amount quicker to 100mph than Martins old escort but then not as much quicker at the quarter!
Still awesome though

why cant there be a event for road legal cars where they have to dop a min of X miles per month and have top actually drive to the event
not being funny, just asking as surly thats gonna be a jsut as interesting event and sure more people would turn up, all the super race cars that dont ever get used on the road to me is like buying performance ferrari mag( i know it dont exist ), no point unless ya can get a go ya self
just my way of thinking but im sure others dont think like me
but again thats awsome, shows just where were all going wrong , we bought the wrong car

Street Racer Sunday events and a few Street Drag events in the USA they all have to go on a 30mile+ road trip and fill up at the pumps before running to prove they are road legal, road drivable, and on road fuel.
Thing is thats an incredibly labourious task to do.
In my eyes they just need to make sure the car has a valid MOT, treaded tyres, and most of all PUMP FUEL.
This is where most the fast Jap cars will fall flat on their ass, they almost all on race fuel, I dont see how you can call a car a REAL road car if its unable to run its full power without the need for mega expensive race fuel.
That means it cant ever be used properly on the road, so not a road car in my eyes....

what about a min milage per month , take a pic of the clocks ect or just drive the car to the event and as ya said use pump fuel only
im prob just bitter that i cant afford a decent engine and so picking holes in a effort to argue to so i feel beter inside
does that mean yours is gonna be pump fuel then steve
oh and tyre warmers should be banned at road car events just as using fuel as balast is in formula one

Course mine is gonna be on pump fuel, it will be used a damn sight more street racing than it will track racing...
Dont see why people worry about tyre warmers, almost nobody uses them, and has no real effect beaing in mind you allowed to do burnouts etc to warm the tyres anyhow....

soprry but can ya imagine tyre warmers at street racing

Yea, but my point is, why worry about banning them when they give no advantage to a drag racer.
Only of any advantage to a circuit racer who wont want to warm his tyres with a burnout

i ment ban as in also ban neons and fast and furious stickers, not as in ban em as there soo good as then IMO they shound ban all jap cars to allow the fords a chance
#65
yea but thats like saying can there not be an event where money is the not te factor that wins and the fact i have built every piece of my car from scratch myself not gave someoen 100k to build it and i use my car every day butit just will never happen b19bal
thats why have gave up with trying to build a fast car as it just dont get reconised the hard work that goes in only the fact someone with more money is faster than you now i am building a diff car that hopefully ppl will like because of how diff it is
