Sold my rst a month ago now after getting so pissed and bored with the whole rst thing
owned and had great times over last 4 years or so , but its the usual bit of welding here , rebuild here , new clutch bla bla yous all no the routine
but now i think im getting the bug again after vowing not to do the old ford thing again
i know in depth that really there still as old as a rst but alot faster usually , but is it just a bigger rst in all honesty i.e same probs but more spending , or should i give in to my ford ways and do it
so all yous cos owners answer please , was it a rst b4 your cos and what is it like in comparison , not power , the whole package

I had an RST before my cossie owning days.
Was dead reliable and cheap to run.
If you get a cossie you need deep pockets.
I certainly never looked back or regretted selling my S2
But I must admit after 6 years, I am getting board of my ESCOS and thinking of getting rid

I had a series 2 for 3 years and did exactly the same thing, sold it due to the amount of time effort and money it took to keep it fast and running!
6 months later i bought a 4x4 saff!
Its a great car but im wishing that i went 2wd tho, so thinking of making the change at the end of the summer!!

since my ban (2yrs in) i lost alot of interest id nearlly finished my first the 1900 but that got broke up as was sat thier doin nowt i think if ya use em often this wouldnt happen you get older stop cruiseing street raceing what more really is thier to do with it after that but wash polish and drive it at a weekends im 30 soon and about to build a fooken monster truth is without the car i wouldnt have a hobbie it aint just the mota is it its all this that comes with pf q mile events ect look at your mates that aint into motaz what do they do? get pissed then piss all thier loot down the drain mine seem to
ive always been put off cossies pure cash reasons as i know the value of money id rather build a 300+ rst the power to weight ratio will catch out most on the road cant remeber being overtaken by anything in the 1900 fook it if you got the loot do it i aim to own an esc cossie soon but that will be carcooned and looked after the s2 killed at every opertunatey

if you get a decent cossie and look after it properly, and don't push the envelope so things keep breaking, then there's no reason why it won't be reliable and sensible.

Mines a mint moonstone, 120k FFSH n totally standard when i bought it. Now it Stg 1 288bhp n runs like a dream dosent miss a beat its just TOO nice i prefer the hard suspension n rattles and torque sreer!! The saff just squats down and goes. I mite even go back to a gig power ERST for the fun factor!

Cheerz guys
its strange after messing about with rst`s for over 4 years im 23 now and always wanted a cos the most affordable a rwd saff could have about £5000-£5500 to spend so could`nt be a dog or white lol and i would rather not have one than own a dog , but once i buyit i know all the trouble may start again . just had a few bad expierences with frst and erst`s and the dreaded rust and melted pitons , so once i sold it felt good for a while but dont wanna be caught out again , but with these nice nights and that its hard , i use to spend hours messing about , polishing etc , but am lost just now and wondered/hoping it will pass , but like u say its a hobby and never thought about it like that

best bet is to buy a dog..well one with a fooked engine
get them for under 2k?
then use the money you have saved to get a nice new high power rebuild.
that way yo know what you have got.

Its pretty hard just to jump off the ford boat and have nothing, ford are all i no, i`ve thought many a time of buying a subaru or pulsar, but im to scared of breaking it, if you break a saph there pretty straight forward to fix, but not a subaru ( imo ) stick to what you no rab, get a cossy and come drifting with me (when i get mine)

ive owned a string of rst since i was about 16 series ones and twos, the whole rebuilding repairing constant spending does get to you, im now drving about in an RS2000 and although its not as quick it is a far nicer car to drive ive just turned 24 and i dont think i am planning on gettin another turbo (however i am married you can do the maths) and i am happy with it i never have to have the fear of breaking it nagging away in the back of my mind, the only way i would have another high power turbo is if i have two cars but that then adds to the cost!
