he has got a point fords are the shits thats why they still get compared to evo's and the like. Put a cossie up against a starion turbo or another 1988 jap turbo car and see what happens. The only jap motors that were any good back in the day was the vtecs, now they are impressive not mental fast but for a 1600 very capable.

Dont ban him, hes harmless.
Tend to agree with him, im a Cosworth not a Ford fan. If i wanted a road car with sensible Power (500bhp ish) i would buy an EVO thats for sure. My own Cossie has become a way of life & it will see me till i retire. Its unlikely i will then drive a fast car.
Looking at his name it may be Dingys brother .

We argue enough on this site and we don't need people like him coming on with the sole purpose of causing arguments.....

Er, nope, He's brainless
Come back when you learn to spell, people might consider your opinions a little more seriously then.
It isn't about how good the things you like are, it's about how much you like them and why that matters.
My Ford is 22 years old and is still fantastic to drive and hasn't broken down once yet...let's see a 22 year old Imprezza and how sh'gged it is then!

Everybody has their own opinion,
I have owned 4 jap cars before (bought one new)and a couple of fords, but currently I use an Audi 80 Avant for everyday use whilst I am restoring a 89 XR4X4.
I like my Sierra best but I have to say that the Audi is better than all the cars I have ever owned

a big power Cossie wouldn't be my choice for a road car either but a properly engineered and thoroughly maintained Cossie is no more or less reliable than any other performance car in my opinion.

So you agree with this then Rod?
I know your car had been super reliable. I know your old engine did a crate load of high speed runs and loads of road miles... and this ones probably going to be the same! So you don't really agree with him do you!
Your right was not agreeing with that, but we have mega fast Cossies which stand against almost anything, there aint too many like ours mate. my point was i would prefer a cooking EVO to a cooking Ford as a road car.
Your right !! BAN the Bastard.

The main reason that jap cars are thought of as more reliable on the whole is simply they havent been around as long to wear out as much and there are far less of them out there with largeish power, and those that have are normally afiliated to some jap tuner who doesnt want you to know the horror stories anyway.
For example, Imprezza and pulsar engines are both far weaker in standard trim than cossies ones, same goes for gearbox's on them both.
Buts its actually pretty rare for either of these cars to be over 300bhp, unlike a cossie where stage 3 (330bhp ish) is pretty much the norm now
