Default Who are people voting for on May 5th?

very boring subject i know but got a leaflet through this morning which rang true to me!!!

UK Independence Party they're called, 4th biggest (which aint too hard i suppose )
But all their policies make sense to me, cut out immigration, not join EU, raise speed limits on motorways, reduce tax and get rid of money making speed cameras

i know thats the good points and obviously the tax issue will be regained elsewhere but even so all seems better than the tosh the other parties are coming out with so they get my vote

Didnt really know or care much before but that little leaflet sold me

Rhys,

If Britain left the EU, would she not be excluded from European trade?

Not at all! The EU member states do not trade just amongst themselves, but with countries throughout the world. Although Switzerland and Norway are not members, both do proportionately more trade with the EU than we do; this doesn't say much for the so-called 'advantages' of our EU membership

No one suggests that we have to become the 51st American State in order to trade with the USA, so why must we be 'part of Europe' so that we can trade with Europe? As it is, we buy far more from EU countries than we sell to them, so it would hardly be in their interests to obstruct trade with Britain

Madmac, why??!

Well to be honest Europe mainly trades with Europe. And extremlly large percentage (cant quite remember what it is). If we left the EU if would mean the UK would have no say in the internal effects of what happens, where as now it has quite a large say and more people are comign onto the same thinking, While France is worry as its losing its control over the EU. At the end of the day its fact we need the EU now so we have to stay with it, and tbh does it cause that much hassel? think about it. Plsu you get free movement etc. Im a fan personally of it!

Correct, but if you see latly with such things as Steel trade rows where the US and the EU have been battling over and more recently with Airbus! The EU stands as an extremly big force economically and can quite happly do trade offs with the US.

While we dont need to be the "52st State" we have close relations with the US anyway so why leave Europe and harm realtions with the neighbours to who we do most of our trading with?

Oh and immergration how many times this country needs immigration to keep the economy going. That and asslymn seeks are two totally diff things

simmer lad, I'm pulling your twonky.

As a regular Muppet, I couldn't give a fook what happens cos they're all much the same anyway.

As an Economics graduate [2:1 baby ] I would like a better representation of the UK in Brussels for fairer trade between members. Altho I would hate to be part of the Euro, simply because the strength of our currency is all of a sudden not only reliant on the performance of our gdp; world respected financial institutions and investments abroad, it also becomes reliant on how good the orange crop is going to be next year in Spain, or how much Italy have done to improve their infrastructure.
