cossy that rattels from cold and hot
its a 2wd 205 block with 2wd pistons in it it used to rattel from could and when warmed up it would stop ....... now it dont stop it keeps on rattiling what is it

It is not low on oil is it ?
Your hydraulic lifters (aka tappets) could also have had it. You can try and clean them (search for tappet clean on here, there was a detailed post by Dave Henshall IIRC).
Otherwise, get a new set.

hold on people pston slap that should go away once warmed up right well my dont it sound like it comeing from top end on the exshust side. would a cam cap make that sort of sound as i have 1 scored cam cap didnt think much off as the rest are in good condition but all the rest of the caps hold down the cam

i know this is not proper way but thers oil shoting out the feed pipe to the turbo and oil is reaching the top end fast so i know every thing is get oil every were

it was ok until i got back from engine advantages got home and noticed the noise but mind you it did get 7 runs on the rollers and blow a water pipe so might just of had a nice day and needs a rebuild

the noise might just appear to be coming from the head mate..
as the piston passes close ish by. it would prolly be at the top of the stroke
(the the con rod changes direction) that the little rattle happens each time..
i got a rattle on mine too.. hope its the lifters

just finding my feet
little ends sound like the noise is comming from the bottom of the head tappets sound like the rocker cover whenya looking at it
well thats what mine sound like anyway
got a block odf wood and see if it amplifys the nosie at all

Well if you are so sure it's coming from the top end then it 'could be' worn valve guides.
But i'd go with the others and say it's probably piston slap mate, the 2WD's are well known for it
