He said:
"I was being encouraged to drive at speeds greater than 145mph on motorways."

Might have to try that line myself one day when stopped on the M5

To be fair. He's probably a fairly handy driver.

BUT

Sounds very arrogant, so I daresay its not helped his case I think a severe slap on the wrist will be sufficient. If he looses his job/license what good is he to stopping crime?

Rich I feel you're taking the piss...

If he wasn't on his way to a shout or anything he should be treated the same as a member of the public

I might try that line if I get caught, "just trying to familiarise myself with the car officer"

Actually, for once, Im not. If he looses his job, then thats 1 less copper on the street. Stop him from driving for his job maybe, even put him back on the beat. Thats what Id like.

Oh and as for Top Speed. Cop cars are chipped heavily

I raced one of these the other night out of edinburgh. I was at 140 mph as we came up to the new bridge roundabout... its a 70 thats then turns into a 40. He was pulling ahead of my v6 mondeo so he must have been doing around 150 speedo. Was quite amusing watching the two team bus old man cars going thru a 40 zone at 140-150 mph and not remotely lifting until a FULL abs manouver to stop at the roundabout te he.. like the good old days

That copper is an idiot. He may be a good driver but doing 150+ when not even going to a call is stupid. You put other people's lives at (albeit a minor) risk when going to calls because the risk is outweighed by the emergency you are going to. To drive like that for no reason is outrageous and hope he gets banned.

spoken like a true copper

on a serious note and not being funny, ok the copper was speeding but tbh oif he is trained ect then doing 150+ on a empty motorway aint a big deal ( of he has the paitence to get the slow shite box to finally get that speed , must have started on scotland to get that speed )

and again think him loosing his job is worse as he will loose loads of things hes payed into like his pension aswell

so think that a ban and not to be allowed to drive old bill cars is a safer option but only cause i hate bent coppers as if hes enforces a law he should lead by example and respect it more than me

other wise how can ya enforce a law that ya dont belive ya self
