With the election coming up and all that i read in the paper that 30% of people do not vote????

I personally have NEVER voted in my life

I WILL be voting Labour! Tony Blair is and has been very strong imo throughout the war especially....if hed backed down to the do gooding wankers they would have called him too soft to run the country! LOL cant win either way I have seen a big change in labour, and if i dint vote labour i wouldnot vote...tories should be all stoned at the village gates IMO

im going to vote for the first time. had to sort out a postal vote as away from home but the way i see it - if you dont vote then you cant moan!!

IMO u have to vote, If u dont u get more extreme parties coming in etc. Plus it pisses me of people who dont vote that then grumble

IMO voting should be mandatory for everyone eligible.. even if it's "none of the above" or "don't give a fook"
At least that way there is a recorded proper representation of what people think as a whole. At the moment a party can get "voted" in with a 'majority' that is smaller than the number of people that didn't vote at all, implying that they aren't in fact the ones that the true majority of people want!

whilst i agree with the bit about you MUST vote, i don't agree with the philosophy of tactical voting.. all that means is you WILL just get a choice of two "bunches to take the piss out of us" and they end up getting pretty much alternate goes at having a laugh just cos people want a change for the wrong reasons.
If EVERYONE went out and voted for who they felt they wanted, the picture could be very different.. Instead a third of the people vote for the one of the pair they hate the least, and another third don't give a fook and don't bother. 30% of the eligible voting population determine who gets in ultimately because of this.... hardly the majority that we are led to believe eh??

The Labour party now barely deserves the name. The working men who had to fight to even be allowed to vote (not to mention the women) would spin in their graves if they could see what it has been turned into. In many ways they are now more Tory than the Tories.

I'm lucky up here though, because I can and will vote SNP.

Whichever party gets in this country will still be a fuckin mess. My taxes WILL go up,so will everyone else's. The spongers will still sponge,criminals will still get away with murder,immigrants will still arrive by the thousand and get benefits and hospital treatment you and me paid tax to provide,and you're average Joe Bloggs will still get shafted for earning an honest living.
