Ford KA 2009
Are there any pit falls I should be aware of when swopping a like for like 1.2 engine from a 2010 car to my 2009. Three manifold studs are broken on my engine and I have obtained a low mileage replacement which looks exactly the same in every respect. I'm concerned about the ECU and would that need changing etc.

You're replacing an entire engine for the sake of 3 studs. Thats quite a commitment....
They are both the same mark/era so should be fine if like for like (assuming replacement is 1.2 also). You don't actually say if you're swapping all the ancillaries etc too, but if you are just changing the long block (block & head) and bolting on your original bits, then chances of any problems are diminished massively.

Besides the three broken studs there were other issues with my engine, so a replacement was the way forward. I have taken the donor engine out as a complete unit and hoped to swap as is with the old unit. If this is not the case what parts need swapping for the replacement engine to be compatible with the car. Any help much appreciated.
