Question GEM module?

Hi I would just like to ask the member do you need to match up the number on the GEM module or would they work in any focus if they are from a focus. I am having problem opening the car doors (CL) and been told to replace the GEM unit to solve the problem. So do I need to match them up or do they work in any car (ford focus 2002) sorry for been a pain all I seem to do is keep asking the member for some form of help, thanks for read and any advice you can give.

gem modules can be changed no bother, ideally you need one with same numbers as they vary due to spec on various models then you simply pair the remote on your key to new gem unit
