Default Car insurance

Had been with need2insure for like 12-13 years , had a tap in custom Focus then the nightmare began - I had gone over my mileage - first time in like 13 years! AND THUS THEY REFUSED TO PAY! ( i went over due to genuine mitigating circumstance)

Anyone had a similar situation ? Did they pay? NOW the persona who bought the car just notified me the insurance / dvla have recorded the CAT C - but ive had no payment no repairs on car....Need2Insure confirmed that this shouldn't have been done...

With regards to the claim as above, anyone in similar situation? Heard few stories that in the same instance insurance companies take off another years policy due to the over spent mileage and thus reduce from final valuation / payment....

Is this true/ you??

Cheeers all!

I can't imagine there is any genuine mitigating circumstance for going over the milage limit without notifying them. You have gained an advantage by not being honest with them

It the terms of your policy does it say explicitly that if you go over the mileage they will only pay you a percentage of the pay out? If not, then they are well within their rights not to pay you.

Insurance companies make their profit by not paying out.

out of interest what was the genuine mitigating reason for going over and not declaring it?
