Default Oil change, too early?

I cover around 2,500 miles a year in my Mondeo MK3 2.5 V6.

I change the oil every 2.5k with Fords own 5/30 and Ford OE oil filter.

I only do short journeys, say 8 miles one day, 1 mile the next day, fair bit of country lanes and town driving. I was thinking that maybe I should change the oil every 6 months as have read the 2.5 V6 engines really like fresh oil to save bottom end failure.......But would this be too often? Would be just over 1,000 miles for every oil change.

No need IMO on a standard engine. Its a good strong engine and bottom end failure would more likely happen with an oil pump failure than not having fresh oil. Nothing to worry about I would say.

What's a tub of oil sell for? Say 20 quid. Then a filter,a fiver.
So for 25 quid I would do it.

What happened about buying a Lexassssss.

Glenn.....How are you mate?

Lexasssss was not bought! Mate, I am like an old woman at the moment with my decisions I look at a car that pops up on one of the for sale sites on Facebook and think 'Yep, I will buy that' Then I Google about that kind of car and the reviews etc and then I drive my Mondeo and think 'I need to keep this car'

Is this my tender age of 43 thats doing this bud, am I finally becoming sensible

Since I started driving at 17 I have owned over 100 cars, some would be kept for a matter of days! My Mondeo is the longest kept car so far, think about 3 years now......Never let me down.......But I know I will be looking at cars later for sale on the sale site on Facebook
