I have a GTD 2016 model and it’s a great all rounder that I use daily and have had 48k trouble free miles out of it. They come well equipped as standard and hold their money well too. Mines the 6 speed manual, in hindsight looking back now I’d probably have gone DSG cause I’m doing so many commuter miles in it. Maybe see if you can test drive both at a dealer?

my mate had the GTD DSG and loved it, was an amazing car, never had any issues with it, he just missed his petrol engines so traded it in recently for the Golf R

I would have thought I'd get a 2015 with dsg for that ?
As you say I need to drive a dsg before I'd buy anything

To be honest I don’t think that’s too bad a price considering new they are 29k ish for a manual, does it have the 18s or 19s on it? Maybe try and haggle them down a tad cause the facelift 7.5 model is now out.

10K+ Poster!!
I would go dsg for traffic or lots of miles but prefer the manual if it is more of a fun drive car. The golfs seem to hold their money well.
