Default 'Aftermarket' 2WD Cosworth Oil pumps. Yey or ney?

Hi guys,

I have recently seen you cant get hold of the Genuine YB cosworth oil pumps anymore. My question is, what are people using instead of? I keep seeing these £130 'grp A' jobs that i assume are made by 'Auto pumps?'

any feedback on them at all? i HATE using aftermarket parts but it seems i'm stuck?

Thanks!
Mike

Modatek sell genuine cosworth oil pumps for around £175,I bought 1 a couple of months ago.
They do sell out fast but cosworth do remake them every so often.
Think the grp a pumps are pinto pumps with the covers ground down so I was told by the company who did my machining work.

Couldn't say but compare the weight of a gen marelli sensor to any other sensor and they are twice the weight.
There's a lot if bad write ups from days gone by about non cosworth oil pumps going bad,not worth the risk imo, prob find they are pinto pumps with ground covers.
I have a good used genuine pump from my saph, only replacing it as I'm that deep into it there's no point not doing it.

I’ve personally witnessed a couple of burton ones ruin peoples engines after only a few miles, if it was me I’d try and find a genuine one somewhere. Must be getting hard to find now

2 pumps failed on the same cvh rs turbo engine and now fitted with a genuine pump it is ok, cost the poor guy a lot of money and stress. My mates 2wd saph shat itself after a few miles and another saph I know of 2wd failed also during the running In period but to be fair they could have been running 200 blocks I’m not 100% sure as it was a good few years back but the cvh problems was fairly recent
