Default RS Turbo starter motor

Hi all I have a S2 Escort Turbo I have heard that the Transit connect starter fits the Escort and has a bit more power. Could anyone advise if its a particulary year of Transit and whether the body is any slimmer than the RST one as I am having a slight clearance problem between the starter and the sump due to fitting a Ford KA gearbox ( starter is located lower down on the bell housing )

The Transit connect was derived from the focus. Surely corresponding Focus parts should fit as well?

is the body slimmer on this one compared to the RS standard one ? I have fitted a KA box and the starter is fouling the sump I have modified the sump a little with a hammer to help it fit better. A slimmer starter will be clear of the sump

Ah yeah I'm with you now, the rocam/ohc engine. Have you thought of trying the matching Ka starter motor?
