Default Pinto Block Year of Manufacture

I recently submitted a kit car, fitted with a Pinto Block (205) for IVA testing and it failed because I didn't have a "certificate" for the year of manufacture of the block. I'm actually the 3rd owner of the kit which was originally bought in 2000 and bought b y me in 2014, and I never saw the donor vehicle. We believe it was a Sierra 2.0. What makes if really difficult is that the DVLA and VOSA are not allowed to tell me who can provide such a certificate. Can anyone help? Has anyone successfully passed an IVA test with such information and know where I can get it?
Engine No. - GM73186
Casting No. - 205 85HM6015B-B
ps - I've tried Ford UK and they could only suggest I contact my local Ford dealer.

The first two letters denote the year & month of manufacture of the vehicle that the engine was originally fitted to.
The engine number usually forms the last 7 characters of the actual original vehicle VIN number.

According to this list http://www.burtonpower.com/tuning-gu...ure-dates.html, GM is the year/month code for July 1986

Hope that helps

Or it technically could relate to November 1967, but I'm not sure the Pinto was manufactured then.
From the casting number, it looks like its a 205 block (usually associated with Cossie engine), so it's a relatively safe bet it's the 1986 option

A bit of shit news there mate I hope you can sort it out . It must be about 8 or 9 years back I rang the dvla about a old car Ford car I was thinking of buying and I got bounced around from department to department unto I got this nice chat that new his stuff and was straight with me . I told him it looked like it might of had the number changed when it had been reconditioned . His reply was we don't keep engine numbers for cars of that age as they have more than certainly had a replacement engine fitted in its life time . That's wot I was told by the dvla back then .
I don't think it will help you much wots going to be your next step
