Default 7inch lsd

would it be possible to fit a lsd from a 7inch rear cossie diff into a 3.9 7inch unit ??

you need to change both the crown wheel and the pinion! the casings are the same though

Would be easier and cheaper to just use a diff from a 2.0 XR4x4 I would have thought.

Would like to keep the lsd if poss . Is the crown wheel and pinion not got more or less teeth than the 3.6 diff

Don't know the tooth count, but the 2 litre DOHC XR4x4 came as standard with a 3.92:1 LSD

only 1s I can find are open diffs

You can fit the 7" cosworth lsd centre into any 7" sierra diff, open or lsd. just transfer the centre and the output flanges over to the other diff.
7 1/2" centres do not fit the 7" diff
