Default Escort help/advice

Hi all firstly I apologise for the long post, after seeing many good restorations taking place I decided this year to start mine.

Bit of background info I bought my series 2 rs turbo 8 years ago for £600 knowing it needed a lot of work was keen to take on a project, work started well a steady flow of new parts and and fitting began, but about 6 months down the line work had began to slow expanding family, working 6 days a week and the fact the car was stored away from the house made it difficult to work in before I knew it weeks turned into months and the car hadn't been touched lost faith that it would ever get done.

One day my mrs phoned to say she needed to pop into my work title did I realise she would roll up in an rs turbo at first I thought she had bought one till I saw the reg number and couldn't believe it it was mine what I had found out is she arranged with a close family friend who was a mechanic as well to have the car taken away and with his own money and time got it running with all the bits needed and did the work req to get it road legal for me and the family to use and enjoy, I Andy been near the car for months had no idea it had gone!
The car quickly got the knickname westy given by one of my boys who loved going out in it named after the man who sorted it for me, however not long after completion he passed away after being ill for sometime which gutted the whole family.
I used the car everyday as my daily drive and apart from fuel pump issue and some minor work to get through a couple of mots had never let me down, which all leads me to where I am now I knew there would be issues behind body kit and all the other usual places I stripped whole interior bumpers body kit and took it to a restoration specialist and to do the bodywork and paint been quoted £12.000 engine brakes s+s I can do but the shell and paint wanted doing by someone who knows what there doing I don't have equipment or space for those sorts of repairs which leads me to a dilemma do I start again with a better shell or is the pricenig to high to repair mine and shop around as you can imagine the car holds huge sentimental value but also I'd love to try and save another rs I'm sure many of you have been where I am and appreciate and help or advice you have or if you know any good restoration places you've used and were well priced, I will get some pics up asap can't attatch for some reason, cheeRS
