Neils head isnt a problem, deliberate, look how good his powerband is.
Small port maybe, relativley mild cams maybe, but on purpose, to give the car a good powerband.
Huge ports and wilder cams wouldve gave the same power at less boost, but shite powerband.
IMHO you go for as mild a cam and small a port as possible for the power you want, providing you spec the compression etc to take the boost needed, thats the way for a nice engine.

Here you go Phil and old PF thread for you to look at.
Tuned by SIMON NORRIS @ Norris designs.
632 bhp YB ONLY 2.0 litres running NO MORE than 2.0 bar at ANY time.
Tuned on the same engine dyno that MAD use.

Chimp...i keep fooking saying..I KNOW FUCK ALL ABOUT ANY ENGINE.
I am really dense as you say/know i am...hence the daft questions...do you think i care
We cant all be guru's who were born with engine knowledge.

Phil, you switch between one minute claiming you are designing this revolutionary new engine thats going to turn the tuning world on its head, and then the next minute you dont even know the basics, its all a bit jekyl and hyde dont you think?

karl used to say somthing a lot which is 100% true quite a bit...
engines need to be specced as a whole, picking bits from various engine specs doesnt make a good engine

Phil,
Neils engine has a very high flow head but has mild cams timed in for midrange response to give a power band that is as useable as possible. The big issue with making top end power for Neil is the 2wd manifold and PJ intermediate wastgate pipe (good strong piece of kit but not ideal for high rpm power) so going for Neils setup is ideal if you are keeping with the 2wd manifold as Neil has done.
