Default Vag piston identification help!

Hello, pulled apart my zvh engine and found it had audi/vw pistons in it,

they are mahle pressure cast with a 84.7mm bore size on a 22mm wrist pin,

looking to find what they are from etc so i can possibly buy an oversize set but im having zero luck!

Any help appreciated!

So is yours a 1.8 or 2.0l block?
As the 1.8 is 80.6mm bore and the 2.0 is 84.8, so assuming the latter
And are those cutouts on all pistons, and the same?

mine is a 2ltr mate, I was just meaning there is vag options for a 1.8ltr,

i believe there would be small valve cut outs in them standard, but as you can see those are rough and seems a previous owner had a crack at them by hand,
so possibly no valve reliefs as standard!

i was having a look last night and cant seem to find much! other than with the 1.8 zetec the audi s3 pistons at 81mm used with standard zetec rods, where the rods little end needs reaming slightly to the take the wrist pin.

very little info on 84 or 85mm vag pistons.
it seems the 2.0l tfsi use 82.5mm...

I was told they were rs4 items, but biggest seems to be around 82mm,
even went on mahles site and typed in the pistons measurments etc to identify it... nothing!

End result is ive got pissed off and went to spoke to area six and he has sourced me some JE pistons!

Would still like to find out what these are though!

Haha, yea much easier!
Was keen to find out because thought it could be a possibly cheaper alternative for a decent piston, but being made of unobtainium obviously has its draw backs in sourcing!
