now I have sorted this problem but just want to try to undersand it so it doesn't happen again went to the garage tonight to use the series 1 and it wouldn't start now being lazy I charged it but left the + side of the battery connected and when I came to start it the car fired then cut out and would turn over but not start and the battery light was on tried a different alternator and battery to rule them out still the same also tried the yellow relay behind heater box as not sure what it does no joy there then trie the black relay next to the fuel pump relay and then it started first turn and just to be sure refitted the one I took out and it fired first turn again so what could have been the problem
