Default alternator

found a recon alternator for my series 1 but it says its 14v would this be ok as the one on the car says 12v or is there some sort of difference

It will output 14v as per most car alternators (excluding smartcharge) - will be fine

All are more than 12V, it has to to overcome the internal resistance of the battery, thus produce a charge. In fact they produce more, but they are regulated to that.

So yes, it's fine.
