14000+ post superhero
Whilst I have never been to Ford Fair etc, the location is important. I mean where in the country as much as the place the event is being held. Being in South Devon, there is nothing around here & I don't really want to have to drive 4 or 5 hours each way. I fully understand that being cut off from a lot of the country doesn't help put perhaps rotate the location of the event from year to year. 2017 in East England, 2018 West England etc....
We did have 'South West Motor Show' about 8 years ago but all I remember of it was just full of chavvy cars with stick on plastic body kits. No imagination or unique custom work. A lot of the people on the stands wanted to show off who had the loudest exhaust .... boring, sad & pathetic.

I think I might make the effort to come down south and visit one of your big shows next year. its been a few years since I attended a car show.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
I've had 1 of my cosies for 16 yrs & bought the other 1 this yr, I've only been going to a ff for the last 3 yrs & a few at the pod this yr , I've always wanted to put my car on show but never been in a club & not known how to go about it??
The shows I have been with the wife & littlen have been ok but the lack of cosworth is a tad shite!!!! There seems to be more cosies parked on the car park than in the actual show!!!!! My littlen enjoyed the car park more than the show as there were a lot more cars on there to look at!!!!! I know times move on & people are worried about there cars, hence not taking them.
But if people want to see more cosies why can't we get them in the show instead of the car park?? Maybe offer a discount for people to bring them into the show?? Yes they may not be all in mint condition but not everyone has 30k to buy & show them off.... But at least they would be in the show & maybe people might want to give there car a go at the 0-60 & get a print out of what it did!!
Instead of all the pub talk to there mates, (I've just pulled out of a junction & done over 400mph in second)
This year I would like to bring both my cars saph & escort cos to the shows
& mybee show them & do some track or 0-60 as that's what they are maid for.

Any so called mint cossie has a past like the scabby one next to it, it's just been prepped and painted.
So long as people are using them for me it doesn't matter if it's rotten or "mint" better beaten up and on the road than polished and stuck in someone's heated garage.

I'm Finding My Feet Here Now
Cos500 same thinking as me mate. My Saph isn't mint but I used it as much as I can. Although my turbo is blown at present but once fixed it'll be my daily driver again no matter what the weather.

Tickets for Trax are now on sale.
Sunday 1st October. Silverstone. Kelsey publishing are the organisers, but you do get a free tshirt and show guide with the advanced tickets. That's good, at least your getting something for free for your £25 entry
And two kids under 14 get free entry.

Totally agree with you every car has a history, but I think most people think there car isn't good enough to show, hence leaving it on the car park, when in fact there's nothing wrong with them, as they have drove them there & had lots of fun on the way to the show now doubt, & I bet other motorists have give them the thumbs up while passing etc remernissing of the days when the old RS's used to be every where. If we could turn the car park into part of the show some how I bet people's opinions would change, as there would be a lot more cars to look at.

10K+ Poster!!
Give me a few scruffy cosies over a mint ST any day!
Note to all cossie owners, your car, not matter what condition, will always be good enough in my eyes (and probably many others)!

Can't believe Trax is still going... October... can't see it lasting much longer.
They could give tickets away for free, still don't think many would be interested
Same price for Fordfair... will be interesting to see how many attend in 2017
