There are companies that will do it for you. They will sort all the paperwork, shipping and import taxes etc. Of course they will charge for their services, but may save a great deal of headaches if something goes wrong!

Ye there are loads of exporters and importers out there now that will do it all for you, you'll pay a little more but it will rid you of all the hassle, up to you personally if you think its worth the extra expense, I will say though, cars don't seem to be a bargain any more, supply isn't as plentiful as it was, and everyone has clicked on to the fact imports were a bargain (like 15k once got you an R34 GTR), doesn't happen any more.

My 500 came back from Japan, I found it out there and had started the process before being gazumped, but then tracked down the buyer in the UK so bought it from him instead.

You need a savvy seller over there really to do the leg work for you, de register it and get it to the shipper, easy enough after that.

I remember seeing pics of the Severn Valley car parked up over there, great to hear you may be able to do a deal.

Over 30% in duties and customs plus shipping on top, and with the pound on its arse I hope its a bargain

Just be careful what comes out of Japan.
I live in New Zealand now and they get alot of imports from Japan out here.. I struggle to find any Jap import which live up to our standards.

Ya take ya chances i guess.
