Default Power boost valve for a 2.9efi

Would this be a useful thing to add to my 2.9 efi 12v engine.
It's the early engine with air flow meters.
I've heard this solves an idle issue these engines have.

This is a fuel pressure regulator I believe?... Not sure how this would help with your idle problem. Does this early engine have an idle speed control valve?

All that regulator will do is make the car overfuel everywhere, "power boost valve" is a sales term for dodgy shit.
If it's idling badly you have a different problem which this may well cover up but it will overfuel everywhere else.

Yes this valve will do nothing except increase fuel pressure in the rail. Though I highly doubt it would cause over fuelling. Just a gimmick. Fuel pickup may increase a tiny bit but in real terms it means nothing. In fact on the early efi Fords, some of them had an adjustable factory fuel pressure regulator with allen key adjustment. If the engine is idling rough, definitely start by swapping out the parts responsible for idle control. I'm guessing this engine has an ISCV.

Yep they are shit. I was sucked in by the gimmick when I was young and foolish, put one on my Orion and it did nothing what so ever! If anything it probably made it run worse.

Save your money.. perhaps a good qaulity fuel pressure gauge is in order to make sure your current fpr is working as it should.
If fuel pressure is right then idle issue lies elsewhere.

They work quite well on turbo'd 2.9's but wouldn't bother on a naturally aspirated.
