I'd be very wary of a stock diff at pod on road tyres let alone slicks I've got a heap of planet gears here still lol

I never went near pod with any of my cossies, only got one of them to hook real good which was my white saph from north yorks, just cheap 225 tyres and every full bore launch I did broke the diff instantly so I fitted a gripper In the end.

Stock planet gears and cwp's are like chocolate when launching at pod

Will be leaving the line on boost next year so see how that go's.

And BFG's would be the least grippy of the bunch ! lol
Anything below about 10-12psi for a drag radial is too low IMO but always worth experimenting. I'd never go that low for fear of the tyre moving too far or simply coming unstuck from the rim and losing all the air.
As far as breakages, a lot do say a proper wrinkle wall tyre is much easier on the drivetrain because of the really soft sidewall.
But sticky tyres will break stuff if you give it the chance. What part of the diff broke ? As a proper LSD it should be fairly strong ? Or does it still use a single diff pin as per old LSD's ?

I started to play with the tyre pressures after a little advise from Kevin Jenkins, I started out at 14 psi but the car was all over the place he said go up to 20 and drop 1 psi each run till you find a balance of grip and stability, I didn't get the chance to put it in to practice only the initial run at 20 psi which made the car more stable and at that I did a 1.7 60ft previously a 1.6 at 14 psi.

Gripper diff still uses standard CW&P
Broke teeth off crown wheel and on the road I snapped pinion shaft so gave up on the Gripper and went supra route but never ran the car again on 1/4
Never had a issue with running the BFG on low pressures, was cold pressure so may have increased slightly after big burnout but felt fine and car was reasonable stable upto the 124/126mph trap speeds
Couldn't compare grip levels with other drag radials as only ran those, now gone skyline I don't think I'll ever be at power levels to need to try them again

At the minute it's a Wavetrac torsen diff.
A plated type might better suit some usage, but I've a huge disliking for any diff with a diff pin. Sooner or later they all break. I'll sacrifice some performance for reliability.
I've only broken one torsen style diff and that was just last year ( Ford Racing diff ). And it wasnt even the gears that broke it was the outer casing of the gears.

All UK sellers I've come across are charging basically the same price it would be to bring them in yourself, give or take.
All the usual places can bring them in, few actually keep any stock.
Hauser, Webster, Trackstuff, LARacingparts and I'm sure there are others.
It's a pity some US sellers cant or wont sell them through egay's global shipping program, as that would make them more affordable. Summit offer some iparcel thing to some locations which is about the cheapest postage option I've seen

My M&H tyres where Ł450 at the beginning of the year, I got them from La racing but wouldn't recommend them took ages to come and just kept getting bull shit every week that they where on there way and I've heard the same about trackstuff, I would order a set now if you want them for next season.

When I ordered my MT DR's from Lee at LA, they were about 3-4 weeks. That's pretty much what he quoted timewise.
if you want faster you'll pay more, simple as that really. Although bigger places may well get more frequent shipments
When I've bought the Hoosiers direct from Hoosier UK, they're fairly quick if timed right, ( and Hauser too although it was years ago ). You could have them in a few days if you get the order just in time for one of their shipments.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Trev you should be hitting atleast low 1.5s or mid 1.4s in the cortina,I don't know if your on a 4 link etc,but I presume you've checked diff angle, plus you might want to get it corner weighted, does make a difference and make sure your in the car when this is done
Lots of things can be done to improve my only advice is do one at a time,as in play with rear shocks after each run,or do tyre pressures do NOT try and do 2 or 3 things at once as you won't progress as you don't know what making th difference but many do alter too much in one go
Looking at your launch pic it looks like o/s rear needs stiffening
