Your top 3 US classic muscle cars ?
I like most petrol heads love the US muscle car scene apart from owning the odd yank tank back in the 80s when they used to change hands for peanuts, once had a hemi in a capri helped out by the local wheelan family in the 90s it was closest I ever got
my top 3 are, whats yours
1, 429 boss mustang
2, Pontiac GTO
3, SS chevelle 454

I love a modified el Camino. I've driven a few standard yank muscle cars like the 60s mustang and some others and honestly thought they drove like crap but look and sounds awesome. Love the Eleanor off gone in 60 seconds

visited the london motor museum a few years back, they had one of the original movie eleanors used in many of the driving scenes and where jodie and cage get it on in it, the owner of the museum let us get in the car and we even found the sales receipt from the movie production company of nearly $200k in the glove box, heres pic I took
also love the whacky looks of the superbird but always liked the road runner in plum crazy purple better

Not much to argue with on Steve's list. Might swap no. 3 with a 68/9 Camero.
In the crazy world of the late 70's, when I had my 69 Mustang, a lad in our car club in Enfield, probably barely 20yrs old, had a 429 Boss Mustang, just like the one in the picture.
As GCFCOS states, they look the dogs and sound great...but drove like crap. My Mustang was 10-11 years old. Today a car that age drives like new. My Mustang was like a three-wheeled Transit which you had to drive sitting in a broken deck chair in the back.

67 pontiff GTO
68 Plymouth road runner
70 Plymouth 'cuda (hemi obviously )
Though when it comes to classics I love led sleds, a chopped n channeled '49 mercury in candy red would do it for me.then again a pro street deuce coupe may one day see the inside of my dream garage...

i'll have these...
1.batmobile (the first one...)
2.ecto1
3.a team gmc van
actually they're not muscle cars, but they've got plenty of muscle.
sorry, i'm a moron, didn't mean to disrespect.
all the car you mentioned make me erected, no exception. still can't make any top3 list...
i just wish we had larger roads here in europe...

'68 Camero SS
'67 Mustang GT500
'78 Pontiac Trans Am Firebird
All the above are, in my opinion, some of the most iconic American muscle cars of yesteryear. And all three I intend to never drive as no doubt my illusion of them will be shattered by doing so.
And whilst it's not strictly a muscle car (although it did come with big block V8's), I have to give a mention to the Chevrolet Bel Air - one of the most beautiful cars ever made

I know what you mean as I had the 440 fitted in a capri back in the 90s, but have to admit the boss 9 mustang is my all time fav as ford simply went mental on it getting kar craft to convert the bodys to fit the huge engine

My choices would be:
- 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T in white, 'Vanishing Point' style.
- 1966 AC Cobra 427 Super Snake (this model featured twin Paxton superchargers, only 2 were built though!).
- 1968 Camaro, done in Pro Street style.
The prettiest non-muscle car was the 1959 El Camino.
I'd actually LOVE a 1980s Fox Body Mustang as well.

bought the capri in 83 for Ł550 and was a rs3.1 as it then ran a tired essex lump but it was the 426 from a 71 charger, which replaced the smokey 302 lump that was fitted by jim wheelan in 89, lucky for me I knocked around with some drag racers who thought nothing about fitting massive engines in cars and like da challenge, bit like ed turners in hayes middx back in the day, only difference was they did it for favors not money

I was lucky to drive many us cars back in the 80s as all my mates had them as I was odd one out with my yank powered capri, loved driving the smokey & the bandit trans am as that was on my bucket list back then but was sluggish and slow but still loved it, my brother in law imported one like many did back in the day, all time fav was a stroker engine chevelle owned by my girfriends brother, it scared the crap out of me at 18 yrs old, but sadly never owned any just the engines
