Cheap computers, where from?
As title, my sister is after a computer, doesent want anythin too fancy as it will just be used for the net and word/excell etc.
Anyone know of any decent/cheap places either locally (Manchester) or on the net?

my brother got a decent machine from dell, it does everything u will need it to, looks smart and has a 17" monitor, i think it was less that 300 all in delivered, with a printer aswell.

dells ur best bet, altho u can only use dell parts with it for ur average joe that will probs just buy another one in 5 yrs time they have a good reputation for being reliable as far as i know.
building ur own is always gunna be better cos u can make it to ur own needs but for the some1 that doesnt want the hassle of building one then ur better off gettin one that use quality componants rather then a cheap high spec one that uses shite which will break in a few weeks.

dell cases as far as im aware arnt any smaller thier cases the 1 that hinges open is 1 of the best ive seen ive had around 6 dells now mate think of a pc as a std cossie or rst it,ll be slow as the rest whatever make you buy its down to you to customize it to your pref they are all designed the same way unless you buy an apple i worked at flee c world for 5 yrs the 1,s i can tell you not to buy are hp pb compaq thier aimed at soley the domestic market bought from the high street and use cheaper parts to get the price down and 9-10 highstreet stores sell thier own waruntees that aint worth shit as the service is dier best all round for home and buisness is dell its thier support thats unrivalled and is why they dont sell outta shops as then any probs you get will be delt with directly thus removeing the possiblity of gettin shafted at shop level for customer care
