I have a bailey one on mine, works well. My mate has a GRS one which also does
the job, the only difference being mine vents to the atmosphere and his returns
to the sump..

Alps,
Bailey Breather from Mike R, with a custom fitting kit like mine
I breathe from both sides of the block and vent to atmosphere. Works a treat
I have a spare sump fitting you can have to return to the sump
Any q's, give me a shout
Neil.

Neil S, what do you mean custom fitting kit whats the difference from yours and a normal 1. Are they easy to fit thinking of getting 1 now cause the heads off and i presume it would be easier to fit while its off. O and how much you pay for it if you dont mind me asking

The standard kit breathes from the cam cover and the original flame trap. It returns oil to the sump over on the other side of the block.
What I did was to breathe from the flame trap AND the plug on the drivers side of the block, then return to the sump via the sump plug adaptor (below the level of the oil).
When cornering 'enthusiastically', the oil can get thrown high enough up the block to block up the breather. This way, there is always somewhere for it to go and returning the oil below the sump oil level has some benefit which I have forgotten lol
You will need a different fitting for the block (think its 3/8" instead of 1/2", but dont hold me to it, and longer pipe. Bailey will be able to sort it out for ya
Are you going to the cleveland meet? I'm thinking of going so we can chat about it there

I've never been before, I'll ask Stevie what time it's on.
Just thought - Pirtek (portrack lane) do the hoses and stuff - you could get most everything you need from there, and just get the fitting from Bailey.

Right, mine is:
2 inlets on the top of the breather. One to the top of the flame trap (Below inlet manifold), the other to the opposite side of the block (There's a blank there that gets replaced)
One angled outlet at the bottom - down to the sump via a 90deg elbow and a welded on fitting (Hence I have a spare sump plug fitting for you lol)
One big outlet on the bottom of the breather. This gets a vent pipe on it, mine is cable tied to the arb.

As Steve said
I used the adaptor at first, then when I took the sump off I had it modded to take the elbow
You dont *need* a catch tank - nothing ever comes out of the vent on mine.

Try forge motorsport one thats what I have on mine, and they give discount to RSOC members, had mine powdercoated satin black so that it doesn't stand out to much under bonnet, as I am not into polished alloy either

Hi...i suggest this one...used a Bailey one previously but sold it for this set up...cheap yet fully functional
ALWAYS use a cam cover breather there is a round blanked hole on the rocker cover already...so Cosworth obviously found it beneficial on race cars ...put that to beer can of your choice...then from the flame trap to another beer can of your choice ...Forget a return to the sump You only need that if you dont check your oil level regular enuff and you are a tired old heavy breathing engine!!!
This will be on my new motor after working great on that pictured conversion (430ish BHP)
