Default Brembo Focus RS calipers Minimum Wheel Size

Hello this is my first post, I am new here, I really appreciate your forum, I have a very big issue, I want to mount Focus RS Mk1 calipers, I have standard focus mk1 tdci, i have saloon, i have also st 170 knuckles, but i am very interested if i can use standard original ghia 15 inch alloys, i plan to use citroen xantia 283 or if will fit 288 mm disc, but ford has and extension to the disc, citroen has almost levelled disc,

You will get the point from my pictures, I want to put citroen disc/ peugeot disc because ford 324 only fits 17 inch minimum and i want use 15 inch or maximum 16 inch, because i want to respect identity card of my vehicle, tell me which size, offset and if i can fit any standard original wheels even with spacers, or if they will be aftermarket what manufacturer, what specs and so on. I really appreciate all the information. Thank you once again for letting me be member of your forum, i really appreciate, all the best. I wait for your informations.

I believe there is a set of Comp's that fit in 16 inch. Other than that, 17 is the easiest. Although offset and spoke design are key. Obviously Focus RS MK1 wheels, and the other that fit straight over on a fiesta ST are Rota Grid.

Other than that, hopefully someone else will be able to help further!

Thank you very much, appreciate for your help, I hope I will get them fit 15 inch if someone done that already, I will think about putting some money in the wallet and buying 16 inch alloys, but i hope it will be fine with my type of alloys..
are there other aspects that i need to take care about except offset of the wheel? or that is the only thing needed?
thanks anticipated

Hi,

I don't think the 324mm discs will ever fit under a 15 inch wheel. Spoke design is a big thing. A big chunky spoke will probably catch the caliper.

Safest and easiest way would be to mock fit it all.

I do not want to put 324, I want put the 283 mm from the picture, or 288 because there are 2 options, or even peugeot 406 305 mm , but only if they will fit under 15 inch, thank you, i hope there are also persons that did this kind of jobs..

It could be possible with the 283mm disc as that is what the saff cosworth uses under 15" wheels.
Again depends all on wheel choice.

283 disc ? Can you give me details ? From which car i need to take that disc please?
You mean the citroen that i showed or there are any other options?
I saw now the sierra sapphire option, but the thickness is 24 and minimum is 22,2, are you sure they wil not be too narrow for brembo rotors? is there anyone that did that?

Do you think i can fit fiesta st150 278mm disc? or is it too small for the brembos...?
I found some guys that used 275mm disc, but they did not said if they mount it on car

wont fit in a 15" rim. Focus RS discs are 324mm and you will need at least a 16" rim if not a 17".

Brembos are big calipers also.

Why not use Cossie 4 pots and 283mm discs as that is standard and will be cheaper.

Or you can usee Mondeo calipers and 300mm discs - that might get you under a 15" wheel

I got full frs brakes under 16" wheels, fag paper clearances though.
I'd just fit 2wd cossie brakes for simplicity if you want to go 15" rims.

Ideea is i already have the brembo 4 pot calipers...
Do you think i can fit 278 mm disc or they will be to small for the brembo calipers? I need minimum of 283..
If 278 will fit i can use fiesta st150 disc..

think the calipers will be too big for the discs not to mention taking up valuable space.

I would go with cossie 4 pots and discs as you know they will fit under 15"

Calipers are matched to a certain disc diameter. Something close to the normal diameter will still work, but something completely different won't work. The Focus RS uses 324 mm discs, going to about 280 mm won't work.
