price of RST's
havent really been looking at prices lately really, but a few years back before i went away, Prices seemed good for decent RST's..
had a look in performance ford and some are going for peanuts Seems that of recent, prices have really depreciated..
some for like 1000... probably end up spoending that on bits in the next month or two Starting to think... why??

I picked a decent 1990 White S2 RST up for Ł1500.00 quid not so long ago, with 175BHP.
Then sold it a week later cos I could not be arsed to fix a couple of probs it had.
Plus it was much slower than the cossie.....

I wanted rwd & I wanted a cossie!
I had 1 personal reason which i wont go in2!
& then i thought to my self ok car is quick now lets make it useable & i got up2 5k worth of spending quite quickly! gearbox, brakes, suspension etc.!
& thought do i spend another wedge on this car or sale up & spend it on somethin that will put the power down better & create more power!

I love driving Kims S2. It is much more fun/sensible for every day use. Cheaper than the cossie to Fix and Fill up.
Plus its like a little go kart, love it Dont get me wrong the cossie is a lot quicker but that doesnt make it better, plus the cossie drinks fuel

would keep it standard looking as possible with say 500bhp? now where's my lottery ticket

I dont see prices going up to be honest, after all they are all getting on a bit now and who wants to buy an old Escort. Same thing with Sapphires i'd say, prices keep dropping.

The prices of S1`s are all over the place, Ł1800 taxed and moted and apperently in good condiction up to Ł5k for one thats been restored, then right up to Ł8k for an orignal one.
WTF
Supose the more that get broken up the better, should meen the prices go up??

The prices seem to fluctuate so much with these cars. I'm not too fussed though as I have no intention of getting rid of mine. She's mine for keeps

3i with a turbo and kit
actually does normally get called 3i alot apart from this one time.. Was in the petrol station.. chap behind the counter says, what pump mate? im like, errrrmm, black escort.. He says.. the RS Turbo
anyway... if all these RST's keep getting broken then surely prices will increase To be honest, cant remember the last time I actually saw an RST.. getting rare already

i think for owners that have been into s2,s as a kid its differnt, the prices are decreasing for nails the overall condition of most is shite nowadays you try buying a minter for under 3k
i dont really care about resale its the enjoyment and fun it gives thats priceless

Theres a big interest in RWD at the moment, RS2000 and Mexico prices have gone mad, even Capri's are going up in price.
Doesn't help the value of old FWD stuff

S1's seem to be appreciating in value as there are so few (mint) ones left. The shitters still go for peanuts though.
S2's seem to be depreciating, have been doing for ages as there are so many around to choose from. Minters still pull the money though.....

all good comments
Rudey - 100% with you on that. dont get me wrong, Im all for modding cars etc, and fully aware of the fact that hardly any of the costs will be recouperated But when you see them for 1000 etc, bit dissapointing
I've owned mine now for 6 years, slightly over.. so like I say.. wouldnt have unless i didnt enjoy it! but for what i paid for a turbo and a gearbox thats all the car is probably worth

i personally fink its just the shitters that are rely cheap, its just that its so rare to pick up a mint rs turbo wether it be the series 1 or the 2 and when they do go they r expensive an eg would be muska's turbo if i dint have mine id hand ova 5.4k straight up, i fink in the future the shitters will be weeded out and prices wil go up question is how long! end of the day u pay for wot u get
