I have a 2013 Ford B Max. Going well but ever since I had the car from new I have awful condensation even after just a few minutes sitting in the car.
In fact I have mould on the cloth parts which I try to wipe off continually.
All the lights have condensation in them too. I have mentioned this at the Ford garage a few times but they can't find anything that is causing it.
Anyone else have this problem?

It is 3 years old now so no, but each time I've taken it in for service I've actually shown them the mould. Just two weeks ago I went back and showed them and they just shrugged. Last year they looked all over to see if there was damp seating or mats but they couldn't find anything.

Defiantly sounds like water ingress somewhere mate I would have a good route around. The sound denning material used cars is quite thick and can soak up a lot of water before the carpets get wet. You can buy silica bags from eBay as well which absorb moisture might be worth buying some of them for the short term.

Does sound like you got a water leak somewhere but most cars will get some condensation in them through every day use. Getting in and out car with wet jacket regularly , kids doing same and perhaps a dog all will make it damp this time of year. Every few 6 months I put a dehumidifier in our cars for a few hours and you will be amazed how much water it pulls out. Seats and sound deadening act as a big sponge over time.

Many thanks for your tips guys. I haven't found anything that has been damp and it's a mystery why there is mould growing inside. But, I will do as you suggest and report back in a few weeks. At this stage I'm willing to try anything.

I have in the past used some AG glass polish, just make sure the windows are clean prior to using it. The other thing I do is close the air vents it helps keep the condensation down. Failing that get some rice and fill a sock with it (I not messing!) it works and leave it on the dash or parcel shelf. I wouldn't expect this to happen on a 2013 car though.

Next time you have a dry day open all the doors and tailgate and leave open for a few hours for the air to circulate.

Stick one at the back of the car and sit one on the dash when I get out, they take the moisture out the air and stop the condensation forming on the widows.

It's amazing how much moisture they take out the inside of the car and that's just with general use and no leaks in the car.

Do you keep the ventilation on with all vents open? My car used to get quite damp inside, through the winter I drive to work in the dark, it sits in the shade all day then I drive home in the dark, so it never saw any sunshine for a few months. Parking it in the sun at work helped.


Check the spare wheel well for a puddle of water,


Keep the air conditioning switched on when in the car, it will pull all the moisture out the air, and make sure you haven't got the air recirculate switched on.

Leave ac on for sure.
My car is dry as a bone, but the gas has partially escaped the wifes car and is damp inside.
Modern cars with climate control don't have enough override.
