Default gel cell battery

is a red top battery suitable for running both the car electrics and a sound system off the same batt?

if so what red top would i need? i have currently got a 600ah mondeo diesel batt on the fiesta at the mo and would like something similar rating if poss!

i really have no idea when it comes to gel cell batts!

It would work yes...... errm well obviously only if kept charged

Red Top 30 should be fine .... or a 40 even better

Remember as they are gel filled the tops only have/need a 6mm screw thread so you would need to change the ends on your battery leads

We have nothing but trouble with Red Top Racing Batteries on Road Cars, the 200SX guys all love them because they are small, but they really dont seem to be up to it. Mine has an Optima Battery which has NEVER missed a beat and seems more suited to road use.

Now Im a 200sx boy! my understandin is we have to run these stoopid size battries do to intercooler pipe work!?

what sort of trouble?

i was looking at the optima ones and it said some were suited for deep cycle and some werent!

what does this mean and is a red top suited or not?

if it were going in std bit they wouldnt as they are bolt down anyways!

but as the battery is going inside the car behind the pass seat a new lead needs making anyways to join the old leads to the batt
