... its taking attention away from the road, taking away your skill and experience as a driver; we see this bullshit incorporated into our cars, and increasingly we see idiots that dont know what theyre doing on the road.
Personally, i like the older cars, so you could say i'm biased, but why cant a car just stay a car, and a phone stay a phone? I think the cross integration of everything that we see today, is (among other things) serving to take good drivers off the road. We'll see an increase in idiots having accidents, and more-and-more unreliable measures will be put in place, to take your driving away from you, until all you have to do is push a button, and it takes you there.
Thats not free, inasmuch as your not free to travel where you please, when you please, how you please etc; its predetermined, instructed, controlled, timed. It will leave us quite literally putting our lives in the hands of an inherantly faulty circuitboard, or corrupted software; and i think this is wrong. Especially given the rate of electrical faults we find in cars.
Increasingly the car doesnt do what you tell it to do, because its not direct like it used to be and its breaking down somehow. Its almost as if Quality Control was on holiday when they released the car in some cases.
Is it not getting a bit beyond a joke? How vain we are to think we have more gizmos than the next man; and then to winge when it all stops working, and to not know how to put it right... I mean c'mon, why are so many people endorsing this stuff? like- "OOOh look at my new in-dash-sat-nav it tells me where to go! // WHAT did you never look at a fucking map?!... Jeez, Nobody uses initiative anymore. Skills; all gone... You dont even need a map i tell ye... Look around, then at the sun, and go from there!"
Whats wrong with people to go craving stuff that makes you a shit driver i wonder? Like ABS brakes, and Automatic Stability Management, let alone computers that recognize everything on a quantum connected level, and allow you to control the oven at home while cruising the motorway hands free. Its getting exponentially silly and un-neccessary. And i'm made to feel like an old fart when talking with people about this, like i'm some disconnected generation that doesnt keep up, its ridiculous. I think most of these new age cars with fancy shit in em, will be long gone while some of the cars from 70's 80's and 90's will still be running, and they'll give you a feel for control that the new stuff cant give you; i'm talking future tense, like in a good few years maybe 10 or more, when todays new cars are wearing out. New age seats are rubbish, theyre hard and thin, not like soft comfy armchairs style seats from back in the day. Plastic everywhere and half arsed electrical shit that was trying to keep up with the times, that now doesnt work, thats what they'll say...
I just can get a lot of these new cars, cant understand em, like why? Theyre a waste of money in my eyes. And some of em dont do the milage that the older cars achieved when driven in the same fashion either. They illude from the truth that increased loads and extra weight requires extra power to move. Look at the shinyshiny! SayYes! Build quality usually suffers too in a bid to save materials and weight figures, or to make it look nice. Oh wait, thats happening cos of side impact protection, and airbags innit! It seems the newer it gets, the worse it gets. Theres always a compromise, and it usually costs you something, whether it be money, or comfort, or quality, or space, or somethin else...
No offence intented to anyone who just bought a car.... lol
But its all making me a bit of a technophobe, like theres no need for it. Surely if the one world government exists, they would seek to unify and simpify everything to manage it more easily, but all we see is the diversifying and expanding of the car, and the companies abilities. Should we not have just a few cars to choose from, that are well made, and perform properly, with some real thought put into them? Its not a difficult undertaking for a multimillion corporation is it! Yet they pour out this reformed rubbish, hoping that theres enough ignorant people buying new cars, just because theyre new, in order to cover their profits; and thats all that drives it nowadays, the money. But i think thats only half the problem, the other half is that the manufacturers are only in it for themselves not you, thats why you go upgrading it at extra cost. So of course theres always something going on with a car, and that makes big money too. Now its like the corporations are making them worse, so they'll be fixed and upgraded more, offsetting sales and repairs to balance a better economy (or profit overall as a nation). But you get a wack piece of ****, for wanting a "new" car, even more so if you want the economy version.
Its like a storms coming out of my head an im shakin with anger and im gonna do somethin supernatural but i dont want to be a **** about it, contain it and talk about it, ya know what i mean?
Call me old fashioned but i'd rather be full of adaptive skill than full of limited technology that goes out of date and crashes, or misses a signal. How dumb is that?
