Hi all I have a Mk 4 escort COMBI van ,I had a slow puncture on the front so as I was taking the wheel of it had a slight wobble only from side to side if you hold at quarter past and quarter to . Thought it could b wheel bearing but if you hold at top and bottom there's no play ? .i have noticed the suspension leg moves ..... I have tightened it at the top but still wobbles a tiny bit , anyone know way else it could be , I have replace both track rod ends aswell ,,,,, still stumped . Thanks

Probably is wheel bearing, worth replacing just in case and then check the bushes and the top mounts.

I can't believe that the obvious has been missed.
The OP clearly stated his strut is loose. On top of the strut is a big rubber mount which is aptly named a 'top mount'. These also contain a bearing and allow the strut to rotate smoothly.
Your top mount is clearly worn and in need of replacement. An easy fix, top mounts are cheap but you will require a spring compressor.
