Default Quick help needed - mondeo st tdci

Random, but a work mate has literally handed me the key to his 53 plate mondeo st tdci and no longer wants the car, as the battery has died and cannot access the car (and also has no mot - hence getting the car for free.

The problem is, that the bonnet barrel lock has been changed at a time, so the key is different to the ignition and the bonnet key is inside the car, so cannot open the bonnet. And i also cannot open the doors (or bootlid) at all as it seems there is no barrel locks. Not even behind the drivers door handle etc.

Apart from smashing the window to gain access to the bonnet key, is there any other methods of getting into the car or at least under he bonnet to get the battery in and use the master key to open the car as per norm??

Ps. Myself and the car are both in Germany!

the grill would need to be damaged to remove without the bonnet open and wouldnt help as the lock is shear bolted to the front panel from memory.
you could try forcing the bonnet lock with a screwdriver if the key is not gonna fit anyway.
the shaft of the locking mechanism is crude but hard to get at.

other options are getting under it and powering up the back of the alternator or starter main feed to try to bring it to life?

The way the car is parked, i cant even get under it to get at anything. And i also have no tools to do feck all. I would have to go buy some. Which in that case, it would be handier (and just as cheap) to pick the cheapest window and sacrafice it, to get the actual key for the bonnet lock and change the battery and get it started that way!!

Do a front window if you do, most of the time they can be tilted in unlike the rears that require a complete strip of the door to get the glass back in

Oh and have you got personal AA cover as they can more than likely get in for you.

I am fairly sure there is a key hole underneath the boot handle, right in the middle of the release button. Seem to remember having to use it to get into my old mk3 a few years ago!

Failing that can you jack it up and get a jump lead on to the alternator or starter?

he's got the st tdci on a 53 plate, so it will be more than likely the facelifted version with no lock as it was deleted then

Cover the glass in strong tape before you smash it to keep it all together. Failing that do you have breakdown cover? They know all sorts of weird and wonderful ways to get in to cars.

Funny you should say that, but i didnt realise that my boss used to work for the RAC 10yrs ago when he lived in the UK and last night in the pub i mentioned my dilemma to him and he is gonna have a look at it. The fella who does officially own the car, may even want the car back if it gets fixed. But as it stands, its mine if it cant be fixed before next weekend lol

but that just removes the handle, the locking mechanism is buried deep in the depths of the door frame

Why does that matter? I know you cant open the door if its deadlocked but surely he can retrieve the key for the bonnet through a gap in the door if its wedged open,Assuming its not in the glove box etc

but if he starts it and gets it sorted, the guys going to want it back

smashing the passenger side rear window then would be the way to go if he doesn't want to damage stuff

then replacing it with some plastic bags and cardboard while he drives it back

assuming again that it's rhd and not lhd because it's german

someone has fitted a blanking plate to it then, if you can sacrifice the outer small cover it should be under there with a small hole for the key

they are easy enough to replace too, just dont scratch the door and bash it off with a screwdriver and hammer

Clutching at straws here but what about the electronic boot release switch, can you do the same trick on a mondeo as you can on a transit?
