Default Transit connect TDCI anyone worked on them before?

Bought 57plate one today, been told its the fuel pump causing it not to start? anyone know what best to do with pump change it or recondition old unit? does injectors need done aswel? thanks andrew

I'd start the diagnostics yourself from the very beginning, back to basics. The amount of aa and Rac who drop cars to our workshop telling us "it's defo this" and "it's defo that", 9 times out of 10 it's something else, not there fault as such as they've only got a limited time to look at it. Never believe what someone else says it is untill u can vouch for it yourself. (Just advice if your mechanically minded, useless advice to

The pumps are easy to change matey. I would be changing the fuel filter first.

get the code reader on it, it might just be a faulty key fob

Im sure if the key is faulty the starter wont crank.

they crank, they just didn't fire on ours

but it would be a different matter if it's been run on petrol and has contaminated the fuel system, it cost us £3k both times this happened, and free the one time we caught it in time and then things went belly up 4 months down the line
