Reliable here if you are lucky means 20K road miles if you normally drive it very steady and stay off boost most of the time.
You arent going to get more than a few hours of flat out use from it.
Porkie estimate of 12K is probably not a bad one.

IMA, by feck all i meant in the grand scheme of things.
Once you have dry built the engine and measured everything, it takes only a matter of a couple of hours to pop the new shells and bearings in it, pop the head on and stick oil pump and water pump etc in it.
Thats what i would call the assembly, maybe you mean something different to what i do when you refer to the final assembly of an engine though?
