How many times have i gotta say this..MARK SHEAD IS NOT BUILDING OR SPECCING MY ENGINE......if he sees this he will verify it....it just so happens i am getting a few parts thru him as he had some suitable items laying about...yes he does give me advice...
but we all need that..even Chip....although he'd never admit it cause he so fantastic 
....oh and he will teach me the basics of SM4.....so if you think this is a MAD engine THINK again.....so put your money back in your pocket porkie 190mph is not a safe bet..

Big G, because in his quest for acceptance he is attempting to basque in their reflected glory because Mark is actually a well respected bloke with a massive amount of knowledge and experience who most of us cant find enough nice things to say about, so Phil is hoping some of that will rub off on him, and he can be part of the MAD crew because he isnt in the Reyland crew or the PF IN crowd etc and that matters to him because he is incredibally insecure as a result of being brought up in the shadow of such a succesful father who he feels that he has failed to live up to the standards of and is a let down to his entire family.

Well i did study pscyhology at university for a while, but i dont think i'd ever make much of a proffessional at it.
But sometimes problems are so glaringly obvious that anyone can spot them, just like my mum isnt a mechanic but if she saw a piston hanging out of the block on her car she would have a good indiciation as to why it was making annoying repetitive noises, and likewise its easy to see why Phil does

The rottweilder fascination is easily explained as well, they are fantastic guard dogs, and Phils paranoia means that he is constantly convinced that people are out to hurt him (he uses the term "HATERS") but also, more than that, they are loyal friends who will stand by him, and who are not capable of pointing out flaws in what he is doing, they will stand by him regardless of how is achievements compare to other people's like his father.
The fishing comes from a desire to be alone where no one can pick on him, and where no "HATERS" can find him, and also it allows him many little achievements along the way, as every time he catches a fish he can convince himself that he IS achieving things off his own back, and i suspect he may then give details of achievements to either family members or some fishing forum somewhere so that they can pat him on the back and give him the "well done Phil" that he craves.
I dont follow fishing forums, but i suspect that there may be one out there somewhere with a user who has started topics such as:
