Default mk6 escort 1.4 squealing???

Hi all my mk6 escort is making a squealing, the sort of noise the fan belt makes. Thing is its not the fan belt. It only does it when driving along, you can rev the nuts of it at a stand still and it don't do it but it does when moving at low rev's and height. But its not constant, Any ideas???

Cheers all

A belt can squeal under load. Try retentioning the belt and go from there.

Cheers 1-PD, I took the tensioner bearing of this weekend, it wasn't in bad nick and I greased the spring in the back and it's still doing it. Could it be the alternator?
