What sort of power would you need to beat a porsche gt4 ?

My bro inlaw has one its well fast traction control all the gizmos twin turbos 4wd

I bet him a cossie could beat it is it possible your talking a super car vs the ford

I was actually gonna start a HUGE wind up going on about power to weight, traction, aerodynamics etc etc...

and finish with saying that the even though the Cossie is outclassed by this and that but has 33% better this and that it woud DEFINATELY win as its not a made up imaginary car like the Gt4

but I thought that was a bit wankerish

Cool man its a 996 Turbo then, awesome cars. Probably the best everyday all weather supercar out there. wickedly fast for a standard car.

But if you compare its figures to a VERY SERIOUS cossie then its slow! but still a great great great car. Coming down in price as well, looking like a bit of a bargain now considering they were almost 100k cars as new!

I managed to just about keep with one in a straight line drag race upto about 80..... then he pulled away and i gave up oh, and my car was producing 352bhp at the time....

Deano, I know as well as you do that its VERY dangerous.... BUT check out Top Marques!!! (and make sure you have someone with you to prevent you buying a cheap sounded suprcar) but you will see Prices of 996 Turbos have taken a huge drop!

The Lambo Gallardo apparently has had quite an effect as its a 500bhp usable supercar for the same price but with stunning looks.... the 996 Turbos were also getting quite common as it happens... so oversupply and the new 997 and new Lambo have forced prices to BARGAIN levels

LMAF @ Porkie - No mate, just personal choice... never really liked porkers to be honest, and having only ever driven a poxter i can't really comment on how they are to drive either... might change my mind if i ever get the chance to drive a 'propper' porsche

RS6's are nice estates... but thats it! 996 Turbos are just awesome! but not as good as the Gt3 even though they are faster in a straight line

p.s nothing wrong with Poxsters either, I have had one for years now and yes the Sierras fast but the Porsche is sooooo much nicer and makes me smile MUCH more and that is what matters in the end!

I'm still waiting for my spin in the guy at works GT3. Not a Porker fan at all but you can't fail to be impressed by some of them.

The Boxster isn't about balls out speed. Like the Lotus Elise it's about delivering a complete driving package of handling, feel and delivering a very rewarding drive when you get things right.

Nar, sorry mate can't say i thought much of the boxster, i drove the 3.2s... My old man's got a Honda S2000, far better grin factor than the Boxster IMO... But hay, if ya like it then fair play

Spot on standard they do sound poo though, but get a mad zorst and a few subtle induction mods and you can get a boxster sounding better than a standard Gt3 slam it on 10x 19' BBS like I just have and they are the bollox! seriously in love with mine again after dropping the roof and having a mad blast upto see Rentons new baby.

driven a few S2000s and they are cool cars... really really like em. Great sounding engine but I've NEVER seen anyone say the grin factor is better than a Boxster. read what the pros think... or look at how poorly the Honda sold

How the heck can a Ł50,000 Porsche be cheaper to insure than a poofy Z3 I suspect the Porker may be a few insurance categories higher. Unless he's got it on a limited mileage policy I spose

I agree the honda did sell poorly, but don't mean it's the worse car... Porkie there's no offence intended by this, But IMO the only reason the boxster is the best selling roadster is because of the badge... the only reason you buy a boxster is because you can't afford a 911.

Course it won't start WW3! everyone is entitled to their opinion. Most of friends have 911's and I normally have a 996 of some description on my drive so I know how the cars compare back to back. But just do some research, do some reading and take the blinkers off when you drive one! just coz a car is slow don't mean its poo. Check out what the bible (evo magazine) or any car mag and read what they say. Also just think... ones a 2 seater mid engined car with 75% of the same bits but lighter, the other has a engine slung out the back like a shonky beatle and has 4 seats and more weight.... its not hard to see why some people think the better drivers car is the Boxster. I couldn't afford a 996 when I bought mine but to be honest I think the 996 convertable is UGLY so have never 'upgraded' (or is that downgrade )

The 997 Gt3 will be the one to have though and there will be more than one of these on Passionford when they finally come out But sadly I won't sell my little Boxster! I adore the little thing!

Popeye was the biggest Boxster hater in the world till he came out in mine
