Ok here goes:

I am looking to buy another performance car soon whilst I restore my Saph, so I currently drive a rot box mk6 escort which is out of MOT in May.
But my insurance is not due until July.
What options do I have as I don't want to lose out on another years no claims by a month or so?
The escort will not go through its next mot without costing more than it's worth unfortunately.

Serious opinions would be greatly appreciated.

You can either contact your current insurer and change the vehicle to the new one for the couple of months or wait. Pretty much the only 2 ways to not lose this years NCB

Might have to wait then as I'm not sure my current insurer will insure a performance vehicle.

leave it to rot on your drive for a few months.

Dont sell it on or scrap it as if it re-appaers somewhere and crashes, YOU will be liable as its still insured in your name. Some biker sold his bike and didnt cancel straight away and is now £100k plus out of pocket after the new owner crashed. Totally crazy IMO but just another way they can fuck you over. Totally insane you can be held legally liable for someone elses crash in a vehicle you no longer own just because you hadnt cancelled a policy that isnt even valid for another driver! and should be invalid the moment ownership transfers!!
