Default Paint or powder coat?

I'm in the middle of an underside resto on my mk1 frs and I've got all the suspension parts stripped ready to get sorted and I'm not sure wheater to get them coated or paint them with rust bullet any advice? The car gets well used so im after a durable finish

Powder coat, as it was from factory.

I work in restoring vintage and classic cars worth 100k plus and we paint aĺl suspension 2k black.

Trouble is with powder coat if it chips it can spread unseen and will flake off like antiroll bars etc.

Epoxy powder coating is best which is what they use on shocks and springs. But will as you know not last.


Choice is yours.

powder coating looks great but i agree with comment above re durability-if its painted you can flatten back/re-key surface and touch up...especially on a daily driver/well used car

I was interested in this, as I can't find powder coating here in spain, I've bought some 2k gloss black so glad you said that paul!

if you can get some epoxy primer to put on bare metal first do that.

yeah that was the plan, I'm waiting on a sandblasted gun to arrive then will blast it all back to bare metal, then 2 pack primer, light sand and then the black.
